Ingredients:

For the Vegetable Dumplings:

1 cup cabbage, finely shredded
1/2 cup carrots, grated
1/4 cup bell peppers (capsicum), finely chopped
1/4 cup spring onions, finely chopped
1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons cornflour
Salt and pepper to taste
Oil for deep frying

For the Manchurian Sauce:

2 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1/2 cup spring onions, chopped
1/4 cup capsicum, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon chili sauce
1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup water
1 tablespoon cornflour mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)

Instructions:

Prepare the Vegetable Dumplings:

In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, grated carrots, chopped bell peppers,

spring onions, ginger-garlic paste, all-purpose flour, cornflour, salt, and pepper.

Mix well to form a dough. If needed, add a little water to bind the mixture.

Shape the mixture into small, round dumplings.

Deep Fry the Vegetable Dumplings:

Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.

Carefully drop the vegetable dumplings into the hot oil and fry until they turn golden brown.

Remove the fried dumplings and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.

Prepare the Manchurian Sauce:

In a separate pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped ginger and garlic, sauté until fragrant.

Add chopped spring onions and sliced capsicum. Stir-fry for a couple of minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato ketchup, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture into the pan with vegetables.

Add water and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes.

Thicken the Sauce:

Once the sauce is simmering, slowly add the cornflour slurry while continuously stirring to avoid lumps.

Continue to cook until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

Combine Dumplings and Sauce:

Gently add the fried vegetable dumplings to the sauce, ensuring they are well-coated.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the dumplings to absorb the flavors of the sauce.

Serve Hot:

Garnish the Veg Manchurian with chopped spring onions.

Serve it hot over steamed rice or as an appetizing side dish.

Indulge in the savory goodness of Veg Manchurian – a delectable fusion of Indian and Chinese flavors. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or as a party appetizer, this recipe promises a delightful culinary experience.
