SOURCE

Ingredients:

4-5 lbs (about 2-2.5 kg) boneless pork shoulder

2 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons paprika

1 tablespoon salt

1 tablespoon black pepper

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 cup barbecue sauce (plus extra for serving)

1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth

Instructions:

Prep the Pork:

In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create the dry rub.

Rub the spice mixture all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it's evenly coated. Allow the pork to marinate for at least 1 hour, but ideally overnight, covered in the refrigerator.

Preheat and Sear:

Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

In a large oven-safe pot or Dutch oven, heat a bit of oil over medium-high heat.

Sear the marinated pork shoulder on all sides until it develops a nice crust. This step locks in flavor.

Slow Roast:

Once seared, pour in the barbecue sauce and broth around the pork, ensuring not to wash off the rub.

Cover the pot with a lid or aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven.

Slow-roast the pork for approximately 3 to 4 hours or until the meat is fork-tender and easily pulls apart.

Shred and Sauce:

Remove the pot from the oven and let the pork rest for a few minutes.

Using two forks or meat claws, shred the pork directly in the pot. The meat should easily come apart.

Serve:

Serve the pulled pork on buns or as desired.

If you prefer a saucier texture, mix some of the cooking juices from the pot into the shredded pork. You can also stir in additional barbecue sauce for more flavor.

Serve the pulled pork on buns, topped with coleslaw, pickles, or any other preferred toppings. Don't forget extra barbecue sauce on the side!

This mouthwatering pulled pork is a versatile delight, perfect for sandwiches, sliders, tacos, or simply enjoying on its own. The tender, smoky, and savory goodness will have your taste buds dancing with delight. Enjoy the warmth of comfort food with this fantastic pulled pork recipe.
