Ingredients:

For Usal (Sprouted Lentil Curry):

1 cup mixed sprouts (moth beans, mung beans, chickpeas)

2-3 green chilies, finely chopped
1/2 cup grated coconut
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon Misal masala
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

For Kat (Spicy Gravy):

2 tablespoons oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, pureed
2 tablespoons Misal masala
1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
Salt to taste
Water as needed

Other Ingredients:

1 cup thick yogurt
Pav (Indian bread rolls)
Chopped onions for garnish
Sev (crispy chickpea noodles)
Lemon wedges


Instructions:

1. Prepare Usal (Sprouted Lentil Curry):

In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add cumin seeds.
Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
Add chopped tomatoes, green chilies, turmeric powder, and Misal masala. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
Add mixed sprouts, grated coconut, and salt. Cook until sprouts are tender.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

2. Prepare Kat (Spicy Gravy):

In a separate pan, heat oil and sauté chopped onions until golden brown.
Add tomato puree, Misal masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates.
Add water to achieve the desired consistency. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.

3. Assembling Dahi Misal:

In a serving bowl, place a generous serving of Usal.
Pour the hot Kat over the Usal.
